Namaste! I am kripa from Kathmandu and I currently work between CO, CA and Nepal. I volunteered at Maya for 3 months in 2013, 6+ months in 2017 and many times in between. When I first started, we were a small school of under 50 total students and about 7 hostel students and now the Maya family has grown a lot! If you want to make and feel the difference, Maya’s the place to be! The infectious laughter, the passion for change, the morning hugs – every moment at Maya will leave a mark in your heart. Not everyone can be there in person, but this is why I am so excited to join COE’s fundraising team! I’m looking forward to contributing to meaningful and joyful change at the grassroots level with your support!
My name is Miranda Murphy and I first volunteered at Maya in 2015. I was amazed by the students and so many of the program’s innovations. Maya is truly a special place. I currently reside in the U.S. with my fiancé and 2 children. I have taken some time off from traveling abroad to raise my family and focus on my professional career but child welfare and education has become even more special to me since having children of my own. I’m so excited that the US NGO will allow me to contribute to the Mayan mission on a greater scale once again.
